Beauty Recap: Innisfree Haul

April 08, 2018

Innisfree is a Korean skincare and makeup brand that has become so friendly with U.S. consumers that they've branched out and opened a store in New York City. They utilize natural and environmentally-friendly ingredients found on Jeju Island, frequented as a vacation spot and known for its gorgeous landscape.

The samples that accompanied my purchase were plentiful and I'm never one to complain about free stuff, so I went ahead and compiled all I collected and tried out.

Clarifying Facial Foam with Bija Seed Oil $9, innisfree.com

Bija fruit is meant to aid in improving the look of imperfections and I've definitely noticed a difference. I use this once a day at night before toner and essence. It has definitely made my stressed, tired skin tremendously smoother without having that harsh squeaky clean of some over-drying cleansers. The smell is quite off-putting and actually cured my nausea the other night so bare with me and only use a pea-sized amount for lather.

Jeju is full of volcanic terrain so it only makes sense they'd make use of the oil and impurity-absorbing benefits it has to offer. These masks come color-coded by purpose (softening, vitalizing, brightening, hydrating, cica, soothing, purifying) and encourage you to multi-mask to your heart's content. Unlike other clay masks, this formula is a lot thinner, making it easier to rinse off when you're done.

This is similar to the other mask except thicker and extra efficient with the unclogging.

Intensive Hydrating Serum with Green Tea $25, innisfree.com

One of their best-sellers, the dual action of concentrated green tea extract and green tea seed oil is meant to mimic the skin's surface components which helps prolong moisture retention. It's good for both warm and cold seasons as long as you don't apply too much.

For those with dry, sensitive skin or anyone who suffers from dryness in cold weather, this product is made to re-balance your face's hydration status, keeping skin smooth and supple. If you don't like thick creams for the whole face, they also have an eye cream for night application.

Brightening and Pore-Caring Sleeping Mask $25, innisfree.com

I've always loved the concept of overnight masks but couldn't find one that didn't leave my face greasy and prone to breakouts, so I just sleep with sheet masks on which I then tear off in the middle of night unconsciously. But since this mask isn't fully focused on moisturizing, it instead provides a refreshing Vitamin C packed glow and even tone to your skin by morning perfect for emergency needs or a big day ahead.

These were too cute to pass up. There's a cream for each month of the year with corresponding scents like this one I bought for May which is warm wildberry scented.
