Rather than give you a re-hash of what most fashion sites do every season of colors to look out for based on runway shows, I have chosen to be the odd one out and share the shades that have nestled within the confines of my greatest intrigue inspired by a classic film many of you will be familiar with.

Amélie is one of my most treasured film favorites and the roots of my love for Audrey Tatou. For those of you who are reading and envisioning me having ten heads because "wtf is she rambling on about," it's a French rom-com from 2001 that got critical acclaim and is pretty famous on a worldwide scale.

The cinematography puts you in a dream-like bubble while traveling through Montmarte in a highly saturated color scheme. I found these colors to be especially endearing when isolated and woven into modern spring fashion.

Depending on how you tilt your screen, this can either be chili red or deep pumpkin so take it as you may. Suede jackets and pumps or boots would be ideal since it is quite powerful but if you wanna a full tracksuit in this I'm rooting for you. Graphic liner and blush in this shade seems like a fabulous idea as well.

Sage can be a scary concept for some since it's borderline reminiscent of baby barf according to my tia. Among my recent purchases I picked out the trench dress in this color from Chriselle Lim's collection and it surprisingly works like a neutral tone, perfect for denim and dresses.

Yes, this is the color of that cooking wine that creates that full-bodied sauce with the mushrooms you're gonna be drooling about. Marsala is the pit stop between mauve and eggplant. It complements all skin tones and is sleek enough to wear as anything. I'm thinking, berets, lipsticks, pinafores, and whatever else you can imagine.

Yellow certainly isn't for everyone but warm, golden variations are much more forgiving. If you need to brighten up a day look, this will having you walking around like a cute glowing ball of sunshine. I've personally become greatly attracted to t-shirts and sundresses in this shade, but I would say to be mindful of the fact that yellow shoes could turn you into Minnie Mouse.

It's got a splash more of green than a baby blue, which makes it a diverse accent color, especially for those not fond of diving deep into pastel territory. The chili red I have at the top is the best contrast color for this if you wanna be daring. There are a lot of dainty minimalist rings that will have this color thrown in for people like me who rely on black way too often.

  1. from my memories, I remember that Japanese movie NANA was all about "black" lol.
smoky makeup, black leather jacket, and even her black short hair. I just wanted to look wild like Nana in black!
And besides recently I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's, ta-da.. Black came out again.
The black color of this time is different from the above movie, it changed the mood for classic~
These two films remind me of how charming the black color is !>_<
